Beautiful…
Omg.
Anonymous asked: Any opinion on the "Blackfish" documentary trailer that's going around right now? You're normally with the informed marine life opinions, and folk are posting the trailer as cause to "not support any sea park with captive whales". I'm curious as to your opinion on it.
Good question, especially as I saw of a showing near me. I’m interested, but like with similar feature films I’m wary of the new wave of the well-intentioned but potentially uninformed. I think it will be an important film to watch and no matter which “side” one’s on (if at all), but I can’t present any judgement on it without seeing it for myself beyond the trailers (I’m skeptical of the media campaign for it - that new poster is unnecessarily sensationalist and doesn’t even feature Tilikum, it’s Keiko). I hope that, like with any documentary on any subject, people will be interested enough to find out more for themselves instead of taking it at face value. I personally would like to see it.

Spent most of yesterday at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, one of the best places in Atlanta and home to one of my favourite dinosaurs (Giganotosaurus - he’s doing a good job of caressing my head with his stupid little arms here). Heroes Alliance was there in force to celebrate Superhero Day/Father’s Day with some of the world’s cutest costumed kids and we had a brilliant time with them, but I couldn’t resist taking a picture with my crush from the Late Cretaceous.
