Made the mistake of getting involved in a Facebook thread about Rick Santorum in which people were defending him. One particular apologist said that yes, “a child from rape” is a gift from God, and that we would only be answering to Him at the end. In caps lock, of course. When I politely disagreed, I wasn’t even responded to, just immediately blocked.

I've decided I'm going to follow the Hawkeye...
dysphoricfox:
I’ll finish the Hawkeye and Mockingbird series
Then I’m gonna find the Widowmaker miniseries. (I have to find that… I CAN’T FIND IT ANYWHERE)
AND THEN. THEN WILL I READ BLINDSPOT.
And then I’ll continue on to New Avengers: The Reunion.
Bring on the comic hunting.
Here is a link to Widowmaker. Took a few seconds to find.
Reunion should be read before Hawkeye &...

Daniel Radcliffe has outed himself as, in his words, a “militant atheist.” Good on him for being open about his views. Inb4 people lose their shit over this.
He was relaxed about it, and now he sees that it’s not good enough to just be relaxed about it. We are proud of you, Mr. Radcliffe!...

I’m glad to see She-Hulk finally included in the new Marvel Universe waves (and she looks awesome), but there’s still no sign of Mockingbird. Like, at all. Despite her recurring appearances in a popular animated series and a starring role in a TV series in development, let alone all her comics history, so obscurity isn’t even an excuse with all the wild character choices for this...

Spider-Girl and X-23* are two standouts here BECAUSE THEY WERE CANCELLED BECAUSE OF LOW SALES.
We moan and gripe about how we want more titles with women and/or POC’s and here were two examples of titles we wanted that failed because of low sales. I’m not saying that if we all stop torrenting books that sales will increase drastically to keep something afloat, but I sure...

“I’m going to make a special plea to the press—not just the folks who are here, but also your editors—give this some attention. This is the kind of stuff, what these young people are doing, that’s going to make a bigger difference in the life of our country over the long term than just about anything. And it doesn’t belong just on the back pages of a newspaper; we’ve got to lift...

LivingSocial update!
LivingSocial has cancelled the Mark the Shark deal after a huge response. Thank you all for getting involved, and be sure to thank them for listening to our concerns!

Shame on LivingSocial for promoting the mindless...
UPDATE: The deal has been cancelled. Unfortunately 11 were sold, but LivingSocial did a great thing by responding to everyone’s concerns.
Need I even tell who the Mark the Shark is? Here’s a snapshot: (page 1 of 24)
Spend $149 “…hunting down the scariest undersea uglies you’ll ever encounter” with a shark killer, encourages LivingSocial.
Do you know where...
Amazing afternoon with the Heroes Alliance...

Welp.
Also, the only Max Rouse I found at OSU is listed as a Catholic.

Today has been a Good Day:
• Free donuts at work • Free donut holes at work • Juvenile bonnethead sharks, with my hand for size comparison:
• First ever solo trip to Ikea to pick up a display case for my orca collection in my art studio (huge achievement because ATL’s Ikea is in an awkward place and I’m still a new driver)
• A delicious homemade mocha in my hands right at this very moment
any excuse to use...

Plug plug plug! There’s now a tumblr just for my marine life art. I’ll be posting works in progress as well as sketches, doodles and lots more things that don’t make it into the portfolio. There’s not a lot there at the moment, but there will be regular updates. Reblogs are hugely appreciated! Thank you!

Got all excited about finding a local Darwin Day...
If anyone knows of one that just isn’t listed, let me know! I found out UGA is having one, but it’s a bit far for me to go and with the abundance of scientific institutions in the Atlanta area I’m quite disappointed.
The last zoological facility I worked at in the UK had free entry to celebrate his 200th birthday. It was a great day to educate.
